What is Fuelin?

  • Uses a traffic-light system for carbohydrate around exercise: red lower, yellow moderate, green higher.
  • Builds a customised plan with calorie and macro targets from your preferences, activity and needs.
  • Offers AI food tracking and a Progress Check covering weight, sweat rate and fuelling.
  • States "We don't offer a free trial."
  • Says it can be used without a coach or alongside your coach's guidance.

Who is it for?

Fuelin suits you if

  • You follow a structured plan in TrainingPeaks, TriDot, Final Surge or a similar platform and want nutrition to read it.
  • You train with Garmin. Sweatmeal does not connect to Garmin.
  • Carbohydrate timing around sessions, sweat rate and hydration are what you want help with.
  • You work with a coach and want an app that fits alongside their guidance.

Sweatmeal suits you if

  • You track with Whoop, Oura, Ultrahuman, Strava or Apple Health and want the target to follow what you actually did.
  • You want to try training-aware targets before paying for anything; targets and wearable sync are free.
  • You want protein set from lean mass and the burn estimate corrected from your weight trend.

How Sweatmeal works

Sweatmeal reads your training from Whoop, Oura, Strava, Ultrahuman or Apple Health, sets the day's calorie and macro target from it, and never drops the target below your resting metabolic rate. Protein is set from lean mass, and your burn estimate is refined from your weight trend. The full calculation is on the methodology page.

Questions

Is Sweatmeal an alternative to Fuelin?
For some athletes. Both set nutrition targets around training. If you plan in TrainingPeaks or use Garmin, Fuelin connects to those and Sweatmeal does not. If you use Whoop, Oura or Apple Health, Sweatmeal reads them directly.
Does Fuelin offer a free trial?
Fuelin's FAQ says it does not offer a free trial (checked 15 October 2026). Sweatmeal's targets and wearable sync are free, and the annual Pro plan starts with a 7-day trial.
Does Sweatmeal sync with TrainingPeaks or Garmin?
No. Sweatmeal connects to Whoop, Oura, Strava, Ultrahuman and Apple Health.
Can I use Sweatmeal and Fuelin together?
You can, but you would be logging food in two places. Most people choose one and use it consistently.
Which is better for triathlon or marathon training?
It depends on how you train. Planned, platform-driven training suits Fuelin's sync; day-to-day targets from a wearable suit Sweatmeal. Our triathlon and marathon guides are free to read either way.
