Who is it for?

MyFitnessPal suits you if

  • You want the widest food database, quick barcode scanning and a diary you can use anywhere.
  • You use Garmin Connect, Samsung Health or another device Sweatmeal does not connect to.
  • Your training week is regular and a fixed per-day macro pattern is enough.

Sweatmeal suits you if

  • Your training changes from day to day and you want the target to follow what you did.
  • You wear Whoop, Oura or Ultrahuman, or log rides and runs in Strava.
  • You would rather be told what to eat next than work it out from a remaining-calories number.

How Sweatmeal works

Sweatmeal reads your training from Whoop, Oura, Strava, Ultrahuman or Apple Health, sets the day's calorie and macro target from it, and never drops the target below your resting metabolic rate. Protein is set from lean mass, and your burn estimate is refined from your weight trend. The full calculation is on the methodology page.

Questions

Is MyFitnessPal good for athletes?
It is a strong diary with a large database and many integrations. Athletes often adjust targets by hand for training days; Sweatmeal sets them from the training itself.
Does MyFitnessPal connect to Whoop or Oura?
Whoop and Oura are not among the integrations named on MyFitnessPal's homepage (checked 15 October 2026), which lists Apple Health, Garmin Connect, Google Health, Health Connect, Samsung Health and Strava. Check its app directory for the current list.
Does MyFitnessPal have an AI coach?
Its homepage names an AI Nutrition Coach that gives advice based on your diary and goals. Sweatmeal's coach works from today's target and training, and names your next meal.
Can I use both?
You can, but you would be logging food twice. The weight trend is only as good as the log behind it, so most people pick one.
